TRUE BEGINNER
Some BASIC Learning Objectives:
- Give name, address, telephone number
- Can read, recite English alphabet
- Can read and pronounce numbers 1-100
- Can read and pronounce months of the year
- Can name basic family members – i.e. mother, father, wife, husband, son, daughter, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, cousin
- Can name several basic jobs/professions – i.e. cook, server, gardener, builder, teacher, student, lawyer, doctor.
- Can name basic parts of the body
- Can answer basic “wh” questions
- Student will be able to correctly respond in English to the following questions:
a) What is your name?
b) Where do you live?
c) What is your address? House/apartment number? Street?
d) What is your (tele)phone number?
- Student will be able to correctly read and then recite the English alphabet.
a) Name the letters “A” through “J”
b) Name the letters “K” through “Z”
c) Name the letters when randomly pointed to by tutor.
- Student will be able to read and pronounce the numbers 1-100 and read the numbers 1-100 when randomly pointed to by tutor.
- Student will be able to correctly answer (one or two words) the following basic “w/h” questions:
a) What is your home country?
b) Where were you born?
c) How old are you?
d) When is your birthday?
e) Where is your mother? Father? Brother? Sister? Wife? Husband? Son? Daughter? Aunt? Uncle? Cousin?
f) What is your job?
g) When do you go to work?
h) Where is/are your mouth, nose, eyes, hands, fingers, feet, stomach, throat, head, hair, ears, chin, shoulders, waist, legs, knees, ankles, toes, etc.?
